Takács the Artist

Veronica Takács started her training in art at the age of 16 in Paris, France where her family moved from their native Bucharest, Romania. After immigrating to the United States, she continued her studies at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. During her studies, she experimented with different media such as oils and charcoal, as well as with sculpture and jewelry making.

Married to a Canadian and while raising a family of three children in Montreal, Veronica worked for 20 years as Director of Marketing and Advertising for several retail stores. In 2000, she took an early retirement to actively pursue her passion for the arts, especially dry pastels. Her latest works are all in this medium. Striving to perfect her skills and improve her pastel techniques, she continues to study with well-known pastellists.
